Minutes for September 2025

General Meeting  

Meeting called to order at 7:33 PM

Board members in attendance as follows:

Bill Pitman- Vice President, Gerry Simmons- Range Master, Mike Simmons– Secretary, Melanie Simmons- Treasurer,  Aileen Cork- Historian.  7 Members and 5 Board Members.

VP: Minutes from last month were approved. 

Treasure: Melanie read the treasure report. 

VP:  Work party went well.  6 or 7 volunteers showed up and worked hard.

Posts and concrete for the 200 to be installed tomorrow at 8am.  

Gerry:  Paul Langer (Hunters Ed instructor) Rainier had 40-50 kids went through the practical in the past week.  Dates will be coming out as to when the next course will be coming to the club.  

Orientations are going well and more people who are coming out to the open range weekends are signing up to become new members.

We are opening the outdoor range to the public this month for the public sight-in.  We are going to need volunteers 9/21 – 9/28 (8am – 12pm)

Rich Simonson (NRA Firearms instructor) wants to introduce a Basic Handgun Safety Course 10/4 – 10/5.  There will be classroom time followed by range time (50 yds).

This course is limited to 10 shooters.  Each person will need to bring a handgun  w/50 rds. (NO ammo will be allowed in the classroom), and proper ear and eye protection.  Interested persons will need to contact Gerry at (503) 476-6252.  

VP:  FNRA Grant season is open.  We will be applying again for this in the coming weeks.

Need to update the website under disciplines add the following:

Ron – Military Rifle Shoot

Mark – Open Pistol

NRL .22  will be taking place this Saturday.  

Albany Rifle and Pistol Club gun show 9/27, 9/28

Silhouette- per Bill Pitman they had 6 members this week and they had fun.
