General Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM

Board members in attendance as follows:
Ron Jones- President, Bill Pitman- Vice President, Gerry Simmons- Range Master, and Cindy Sacry – Secretary

Pres: Minutes from last month were approved.

Gerry said that he did not have the finance report.

New Range: Gerry also said that he had an orientation with a member from Cal-Portland and while he was there, he spotted a cougar by the 200-yard line.

This member said he could get us some 2×2 bricks for the new range but would have to fine contractors for delivery. He also spoke to Dustin he will be happy to install steps in the new range they are 30 ft wide.

Gerry also spoke to someone from Friends of the NRA, and he will walk him through applying for the grant. The Friends of the NRA meet in February and decides who gets the money.

Bill- said that he has scheduled two work parties this month. The first is on August 10th from 8 AM- 11 AM and August 24th from 8 AM- 11 AM. He said that they have to clean the gutter and cut and stack firewood.

Work Bond- Bill suggested that we start a work bond by charging people an extra $10.00 to encourage members to help out with work details and Range duty. This request was not passed because it would cause more work for the Treasure and Secretary.

Ron had to buy a new a new lock for the side gate.

Brass barrel- Len Thompson and Ron Jones made a yellow brass barrel for the outdoor range to put fired brass into. They will be making another one for the indoor range.

Ron sent Cher Fillman a certified letter on July 20, 2023; it still has not been delivered because she has moved several times.

In working to get our club status as Non-Profit status, Bill Pitman, Ron Jones and Cindy Sacry met with Dan Garrison CPA, he said that the board could approve the new By-laws and he would help our club with submitting all the necessary documents to obtain the Non-Profit status for free.

Cindy Sacry made a motion to give Dan Garrison a Life time Membership for the indoor and outdoor range. It was passed.

 NRL 22 Shoot –is this Saturday August 5, 2023. We have been getting 8-12 people, per Wayne Woodcock.

 Silhouette– Bill Pitman said they had 9 people and had 3 relays

Muzzle loader – Mike Sacry and Bill Pitman ran the shoot. Don White and Karl Graichen were the winners of the shoot.

Military Shoot– is this Sunday August 6, 2023. Len Thompson asked if they could shoot with a Flint lock. It was approved.

Good of the Order:

Aileen Cork is at Frontier in Longview and is recuperating

Richard McCaine is at home recuperating.

Ron asked if we need to make a ramp for Aileen. He will have to find out.

There was a discussion to install cameras with motion on the conex to see who is breaking vandalizing the club.  It was not passed because some members do not want cameras.

Gun Shows:

August 26 and 27 the at Hillsboro, Oregon Arms

ARPC Gun show Lin County Fairground, Albany September 23-24.
