Minutes for July 2, 2025
General Meeting
Meeting called to order at 7:32 PM
Board members in attendance as follows:
Ron Jones- President, Bill Pitman- Vice President, Gerry Simmons- Range Master, Mike Simmons-Secretary, Ailene Cork Historian and 8 additional members
Pres: Minutes from last month were approved.
Treasure: Treasure report was read.
VP: Proposal to start building the shed for the upper range. Motion second and approved.
Range Master: Propose removing range time from the key card system. Second and Carried.
(NOTE: This will be an ongoing process so please be patient).
That the upper 60yd range is currently open (members only).
Range duty: Clarification that the open range days for the public are for the main range.
Need to get volunteers for the upcoming range duty. Sign up calendars are posted.
Use card number and initials for the calendar sign up.
Card number only will be posted for the website calendar.
Steve Martinez would like to teach a two day (16hrs) advanced trauma / medical class in the classroom and range. His medical background is based in Military Emergency Medical Training he received at Ft. Lewis, WA. More information to follow.
Historian: Arnold Cork joined the club in 1948 and spend Ailene would like to donate Arnolds mountain man buckskin leather outfit to the club along with his small bore shooting jacket with patches that go back to the 1950’s.
Old Business
Pres: Still need to get Arnolds memorial plaque funded by the club. Will get an update next month.
New Business
Pres: To ALL: Please do not shoot our signs on the upper range! If you want to shoot a sign, bring your own!
We are looking at restarting the “Military Shoot” at the upper range on 3r Sunday of the month. Bring any military rifle with at least 20rds of ammo. 10am -Noon. See you there.
SHOOT REPORT:
Silhouette- Really good turn out. A dozen or more with new youth shooters.
Muzzle loader Shoot– 10 shooters came and two were new shooters.
Black Powder Cartridge shoot: Didn’t happen.
NEW Open pistol shoot: No report
NRL shoot– 4 shooters came last month. is this Saturday, July 5th, at 9 AM.
Upcoming gun show at the portland Armory on the 27th (Oregon Arms)
